About us

Cuisine Romefort is a family business with tradition that represents quality. For more than 30 years, Benoît Romefort has been trading with copper products, French delicacies, wine and other cooking utensils. Together with his son Marc, they created their own brand Cuisine Romefort. This label represents the basic tools required in a kitchen: Knives for cutting, chopping blocks as a base and pots & pans to prepare the food. Feel free to visit the website for the european market. Below you will find some words from the Managing Director Benoit Romefort.

  • From knife sharpener to my own product

"In my small boutique in Berlin, Germany, I sharpened the knives of my customers for years. I learned sharpening knives in Thiers, which is a city in France known as a hotspot for knife manufacturers. My customers, both amateur cooks and professional chefs, were amazed by my traditional convex grind which is more robust than industry cuts. My store also featured a small selection of high quality cooking utensils."

"Over the years, I sharpened thousands of knives, from cheap disposable items to one-of-a-kind forged items. Through sales and many conversations with my customers, I gathered a lot of savoir-faire about their preferences and desires for cookware. While sharpening and polishing, I explored different knives, blade shapes, grinds and metals; then I decided to make my own knife. "

  • Traditional craftsmanship - essential utensils for the kitchen

"In the wake of the Corona pandemic, I decided to give up my store. Together with my son Marc, I reoriented: we expanded our online business for kitchen utensils. In addition to our own knives, other products followed, such as pans and pots made of copper, which we sell under our Cuisine Romefort brand. The products offered under this name represent quality, tradition and proudly bear our family name."

"Soon after we moved into our new warehouse, which provided more storage space as well as room for a large workshop. We are now able to produce more products and to expand our business. After having worked with some US customers we decided to rent a small storage facilty overseas. We are now able to process our USA customers orders more quickly and efficiently."

"If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us via our contact form."

    Sincerely,

    Benoît Romefort
